A home battery usually runs from around $8,000 to $15,000 installed, depending on the size, the brand and whether it does full-home backup. Current federal and New South Wales battery incentives take several thousand dollars off that, and the amounts change over time. What size battery does your home need?
The right size comes from two things: how much power you use after dark, and how much of it you want to cover. A household that uses most of its power in the evening gets more from a larger battery, while a home that is out all day may only need enough to ride through the peak. As a rough start, many homes land between 10 and 15 kWh of usable storage. We read your actual usage from a recent bill and size it so you are not paying for capacity you will never cycle.
Adding a battery to solar you already have
You do not need to replace your panels to add storage. If your existing inverter is battery-ready we can add a compatible battery to it, and if it is not, an AC-coupled battery with its own inverter does the same job. We check what you already have before quoting so the retrofit is clean rather than a rip-and-replace. A quality lithium battery lasts around ten to fifteen years, and most carry a warranty of ten years or a set number of cycles. Keeping it correctly sized and installed helps it reach the top of that range.
What size solar battery do I need?

How do solar batteries work?
